Each women have amazing stories. They have overcome extreme circustances to save their families.  Culture and tradition is what keeps them rooted. The success of their children is what keeps them motivated and determined.  Our women are all first generation immigrants to this country.  Most of them are illiterate but with the world at their hands they are overcoming the barriers to succeed in this country.

We cannot fight for the self-determination of immigrants and not include in the conversation indigenous communities.  We hope this is the first step towards the right direction.

About the founder:

Linda Sanchez is a bay area activist whose mission is to change the way we perceive indigenous communities.  Her work involves working with bay area youth to challenge negative narratives about undocumented people and tirelessly working with indigenous communities to include their voices in the growing green economy.  She started Fuerza Indigena to sustain a foundation for the economic mobility of indigenous women.
